This is important to the book because it allows the characters to realize what's important and what doesn't really matter. The film takes after a novel written by John Green. Similar to Tiresias, the blind prophet of Thebes, Isaac is often able to see the 'big picture' of things, which is strange because he has no sight. The movie The Fault in our Stars premiered in the year 2014. His best friend Isaac (Nat Wolff) has already lost one eye to cancer and has been told that his other eye will. Isaac is also a significant aspect to the book because of his insight (no pun intended). He is a cancer survivor who has a prosthetic leg.
These feelings are important to the reader because unless the reader has experienced cancer, there's a chance that they don't understand the emotional roller coaster involved with the disease, which is why it is important Isaac gives us a reminder of the struggle of being a victim to cancer. I think that this release of anger is important to the reader, to act as a reminder that not only is cancer sad, but its also frustrating and unfair. Quite often when Isaac is presented with bad news or negativity, he gets angry and shows his anger, particularly through breaking things.
Throughout The Fault in Our Stars, to many people Isaac's character presence may seem insignificant to most people, but I wanted to share why I believe that Isaac's character is included in the book.
